Induction Dynamics has completed the development
of our Race Intake Manifolds for the GM
2.4L LD9 Engine. TheseManifolds
are a brand new design that features flow
rates much higher than any currently available
manifold (including the 2.3L Quad4 High
Output Manifold).
Constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum these
intake manifolds are intended for
both Naturally Aspirated and Turbocharged
applications. The manifolds are equipped
with four 1/8" NPT ports for vaccum
connections, gauges or Nitrous Oxide delivery.
The manifold accepts up to a 62mm throttle
body with the factory bolt geometry is
retained. 316 Stainless Steel fittings
and plugs are included for all NPT ports
on the manifold.
These intake manifolds are
intended mainly for racing applications
and are not a friendly OEM replacement.
Although full streetability is retained
the manifold will require some changes
to vehicle's engine bay. For example,
use of this manifold REQUIRES that the
battery be relocated to the trunk, and
requires the use of a special COLD AIR
INTAKE. Stock throttle body cables and
retaining brackets are re-used.
The
Induction Dynamics Advantage
One of the main disadvantages of current
LD9 manifolds is their inability to match
the "B-shaped" LD9 intake ports.
The Induction Dynamics CAD-modelled design
(Picured Below)
provides a smooth transition from the
circular runner to the B-shape without
any change in the cross-sectional area
and therefore no significant pressure
drop,
