Frequently Asked Questions
Below you will find a list of some of the
more common questions we receive and their respective
answers.
I live in the US and when I received my intake I
had to pay an extra $40 for brokerage? What is this
charge for? I paid the price listed on your website.
Shouldn't that be it?
| The
Brokerage Fee is a charge that you
may have been charged by FedEx in conjucton with the
US
Customs Rules and Regulations. IT
HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH INDUCTION DYNAMICS.
Keep in mind that you are importing goods from antoher
country (from Canada to United States). This means
that certain trade regualtions apply. Canadians pay
similar (brokerage and duty) fees when buying items
from the U.S.

| Will the Induction
Dynamics Cold Air Intake void my warranty?
| No, it will not. The dealer
has no right to void your warranty unless they have
concrete proof that the intake was directly responsible
for the particular damage to the vehicle. Even then,
they can only refuse the warranty on the particular
part in queastion, not anything else. |
I am concerned about water being ingested into the intake
when I drive in heavy rainstorms?
The only instance where the
intake will ingest water occurs when the filter is
submerged in water. Due to the placement of the Induction
Dynamics Intake this is highly unlikely. Companies
such as AEM
offer an air bypass valve that can be added to the
intake system and completely eliminate the unlikely
chance of water getting ingested.
Do I have to take the intake off in the winter?
No. This system was designed,
created and tested in Canada where we know the effects
of winter on cars. This system creates no problems
for winter-driven vehicles.
What kind of power increases can I expect?
This is a highly subjective
topic. The increase in power depends on the climate,
air pressure, the engine wear, and the engine age.
Our dyno results prove that there is a measured increase
in horsepower and torque, but offer no minimum guaranteed
numbers.
Will my fuel economy suffer as a result of using this intake
system?
Our
testing shows no decrease in the city fuel economy
and an actual increase in the highway fuel economy.
Will my car be too loud?
It will not, unless you want
it to be. Induction Dynamics intakes generally retain
a low porfile under normal driving. The sound levlels
increase slightly up towards the middle of the RPM
band. From 65% throttle and up the sound will intensify.
Do you offer a sponsorship program?
We
do offer various forms of sponsorship to a serious
tuners who are continually active in the scene and
who continue to promote the company
at various car shows and exibitions. The kind of
person who qualifies is someone with a proven track
record with other sponsors and documeted magazine
coverage. If this is not you, or if you think sponsorhip
is a neat way to get free or discounted parts, we
probably wouldn't be interested.

I hear that you take forever to deliver, is this true?
Yes, it is. One of the things
you will most likely hear about Induction
Dynamics (aside from how well our intakes
perform) is that we sometimes take a while
to deliver. The reason for this is that
we do not stock a large number of intakes.
Our production and supply delivery is still
cyclic because the demand varies from week
to week. Depending on when the order is
placed (beginning or the end of the production
cycle) the time it takes to get everything
prepared and shipped varies.

I noticed a few scratches in the coating, is my intake
defective?
No it is not. Often the piping
itself has small imperfections (scuffs,
pitts, indentations). This is nothing that
can be helped, yet. We are working with
several piping manufacturers to see if they
can guarantee a higher surface consistency.
